Washi tape is the easiest way to achieve an edgy, adorable and simple picture frame look, without damaging your walls. If you are renting, living in a dorm, or just don’t want anymore ugly holes in your walls, washi tape frames are the way to go. Not only is the tape super cheap, it is incredibly easy to put on, or take off. Coming in a huge variety of different colors and patterns, there is no doubt that you will be able to find one that matches the color and theme of your room. Have some fun, mix and match colors and patterns, and decorate those walls!
Choose your images or posters:
You can hang almost anything on your wall. When I was studying abroad I wanted pictures of my family and friends on my walls to remind me of home. But to add something a little bit different, I also chose a piece of tissue paper that I got from a local store because it has a pattern I love.
Choose your tape:
I chose teal and gold because that’s how I was feeling that day (you can feel colors right?) My tape has patterns on it, but if you want a simpler look, there are plain tapes you can choose from also. Amazon, of course, is a great place to get them.
Time to Hang:
Tip: Find the perfect location for your new stunning frames and make sure the walls are clean. If they are dusty, the tape won’t stick and will fall off in the middle of the night– not a fun thing to wake up to.
Tip: Use a straight edge if you need to, nothing is worse than a crooked line of photos! If you are going for the collage look, you can do it easily without a straight edge.
Make sure you have scissors in hand, and place the photo in its desired location. Secure it by applying your Washi tape to the top edge of the photo. This will allow you to step back and make sure it is straight. Continue with the left and right edges of the photo and finish with the bottom edge.
Instead of lining up the edges perfectly, try making some longer than others. Make different shapes and mix colors!
