With the tiny amount of patience I have, it is surprising that I can manage to paint my own nails (the right hand specifically.) I am willing to put my irritation aside if it means having pretty, eye-catching nails for a week or two (yes sometimes mine only last a week.) Anyway, nothing says summer like bright, colorful nails.
I love doing dots on my nails, because they look like they took a ton of effort, but all you really need is the right tool (and a somewhat steady hand.) I bought my dotting tool off of Amazon, but a bobby pin works just as well.
Start out with a colorful base coat. No need to let it dry (ain’t nobody got time for that!)
Put all of the colors you plan on using for dots on a surface you don’t mind having nail polish stains on. This will make it easy to dip the tool into the polish.
Dip your tool into the polish and gently push the tool to your nail. It will leave a perfect circle (MAGIC!)
Don’t worry about getting polish on your skin it will always come off later.
For smaller dots, don’t press as hard on the nail with your tool. Barely touch the tip of the tool to your nail, and the dot will be much smaller.
Let your nails dry completely before adding your clear coat, otherwise the dots will smear.
