Summer has passed, and while I am happy to say hello to winter, I am sad to be leaving bright flowers and sunny pool parties behind. Something you don’t have to leave behind in the summer months is colorful nails. Although the weather will be colder, that doesn’t mean you have to opt for the typical black, shiny nails. With this easy nail tutorial you can have fun, flower nails year-round and always carry a piece of summer with you.
With only a few inexpensive tools or household items you can do these flower nails on your own. Say goodbye to the nail salon and expensive mani pedis, and say hello to treating yourself from home!
Flower nails tutorial
Step 1: Paint your nails your favorite color.
Step 2: Use a nail dotter, I got mine off Amazon for $2, to make the center of your flower.
Just dip the round top of the tool into the polish and lightly press it on your nail. The harder you press, the bigger the circle. Typically 2-3 dots will be enough, depending on the size of your nails.
Tip: If you don’t have this tool, a tooth pick or bobby pin will work just as well, because they both have small tips.
Step 3: Choose the color for your flowers and use the cleaned dotting tool for the petals. Typically, 4-5 petals will fit.
Tip: Press on your nail with the dotting tool lightly when applying the petals. If you push too hard, they will blend together, and they will look strange!
Step 4: Let them dry completely and apply a clear coat. It is essential that you let them dry before adding the top coat or the flowers will smudge, and all of your hard work will go to waste.
Now go show off your skills and make everyone wish you were their nail artist!
